MARTYN'S MIX - CHAMONIX 2000 PHOTOS 2

Another stunning view of the mountains and Mont Blanc - taken from 2000 metres high up the other side of the valley at Planpraz.

Another view of the Bosson Glacier and Mont Blanc. There is a chairlift that takes you to the base of the glacier. There used to be an ice cave in the glacier which no longer exists because of erosion of pathways.

At Planpraz (2000 metres) we came across some parapentistes or paragliders launching themselves off the slopes and gently gliding down to Chamonix - there was a mixture of experienced and inexperienced (who went tandem with an instructor) - something I don't think I would want to do - but I suppose it is fun if you do it.

A pic of Gaz sitting on the grassy slopes at Planpraz - quite a hot day with temperatures approaching 30 degrees.

Pete at Planpraz - moaning about the heat!!! Still at least there was a restaurant to have a drink at nearby.

Here is a view of a main road in Chamonix - you will notice that it is raining - we had 2 days when the weather was not so good. The main building at the top of the road is the railway station. This is the view from our top floor balcony.
